मतदाताओं की उपेक्षा करने वालों को सबक सिखाओ
यह सच है कि जो भी सरकार बनाता है , पहले वह वोट मांगता है और वोट मांगने में हर उम्मीदवाद अपनी क्षेत्रीय भाषा का ही प्रयोग करता है, परन्तु जैसे ही वह निर्वाचित होकर पहुंच जाता है तो उन गरीब वोटरों को भूलने में कोई कसर नहीं छोडता । अब कुछ प्रांतो में चुनाव हो रहे है अतः मतदाताओं को चाहिये कि वे केवल उन्हें ही वोट दें, जो वास्तव में उनका प्रतिनिधित्व कर सकें । जनता को इस मद पर खुलकर अपने विचार रखने चाहिये और उन भेडियों को चुनाव में मजा चखाना चाहिये जो अपनी करनी और कथनी में अन्तर रखकर अपने हित केलिए जनता का खून चूसते है और अपने क्षेत्र के मतदाताओं की उपेक्षा करते हैं ।

भारतीय विमानपत्तन पाधिकरण द्वारा तनाव प्रबंधन पर आज ६ नवम्बर २००८ को एक कार्यशाला का आयोजन जुहू रोड होटल रामदा में किया गया । इस कार्यशाला में मुंबई के विभिन्न विभागों के राजभाषा से जुडे अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया । तनाव प्रबंधन पर चार सत्रों में प्रातः १० बजे से सांय ६ बजे तक चले इस कार्यक्रम की काफी सराहना की गई । राजभाषा कर्मियों केलिए इस प्रकार के कार्यक्रम एक नया मार्ग प्रशस्त कर सकते है, ऐसा बहुत से अधिकारियों का मत था । इस सफल आयोजन केलिए राजभाषा समाचार की शुभकामनाएं ।

PATNA: Railways minister Lalu Prasad on Sunday urged all MPs and lawmakers from Bihar to resign after November 15 to protest attacks on north Indians, particularly Biharis, in Maharashtra.
Lalu said his appeal is directed to MPs and legislators from all parties in Bihar to resign on the issue. "It will be a total resignation including all parties' MPs, legislators and Independents," Lalu said at a press meet. Chhath is now being celebrated in Bihar. The resignations will take place after November 15 as Lalu wants to give about a week's time to all the political parties after Chhath is over. Clad in white kurta-payjama and surrounded by party leaders and workers, Lalu launched a scathing attack on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray for repeated attacks on north Indians. "Attacks and killing are handiwork of communal forces like MNS and Shiv Sena," he said. On the all party Bihar delegation last month that met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submitted a memorandum for action against MNS and Raj Thackeray, Lalu said that it was the right time to show a united face of Bihar to send a strong message that Bihar will not tolerate any such incident in future. He announced launching of an all party agitation on the issue of Bihari 'asmita' (honour). "We will take to streets in and outside Bihar to warn element like MNS and Shiv Sena," he said. He made it clear that he along with all of his party's 24 MPs, 4 Rajya Sabha MPs, and 55 legislators including his wife Rabri Devi, who is leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, would resign along with other MPs and legislators belonging to other parties and Independents. "It is for other parties to decide and ensure resignation of their MPs and legislators. My party MPs and legislators would resign on the issue," Lalu said. Lalu blamed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for cracks in Bihar unity while referring to the Janata Dal (United) threat that its MPs would resign after November 6. "How could JD(U) alone take the decision when it was decided at the time of the all party delegation to fight a united battle," Lalu queried. The JD(U), part of the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has five members in parliament. It is ruling Bihar in coalition with the BJP. Lalu said he favours that all Bihar's MPs and legislators should resign on any day after November 15. He challenged Nitish Kumar and its ally BJP, the main constituent of National Democratic Alliance, to make their MPs and legislators agree to submitting resignations on the issue. Lalu also dared Nitish Kumar and BJP to snap ties with Shiv Sena on the issue of Bihar. "Either Nitish or BJP should sever their ties with Shiv Sena or make their relationship with Shiv Sena clear before the people," Lalu said. He suggested the formation of a steering committee of all parties in Bihar to lead the agitation in and outside the state. He defended Manmohan Singh by saying that Singh had warned the Maharashtra government on the issue and written one letter after another in this regard. He reiterated the demand for a judicial probe into the killing of Rahul Raj, who was shot by Mumbai Police on Monday after he fired indiscriminately in a city bus and threatened to kill Raj Thackeray. Lalu called the shooting a "brutal murder" and expressed his unhappiness over Maharashtra government's action till date. "I am for a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the high court into Rahul Raj's brutal murder and stern action against Maharashtra police officials guilty of it," Lalu said.

लालू को इनकम टैक्स विभाग से बचना है तो आर. एन. वर्मा को पश्चिम रेलवे का महाप्रबंधक बनाना जरूरी है.....

नई दिल्ली : प्राप्त ताजा जानकारी के अनुसार श्री आर. एन. वर्मा की पोस्टिंग पश्चिम रेलवे में हो जायेगी क्योंकि हमारे विश्वसनीय सूत्रों का कहना है की श्री वर्मा ने अपने एक चीफ इनकम टैक्स कमिश्नर के माध्यम से रेल मंत्री लालू प्रसाद यादव की गर्दन पकड़ ली है। सूत्रों का कहना है की दिल्ली के चीफ इनकम टैक्स कमिश्नर, श्री वर्मा के बैचमेट हैं और २४ किलोमीटर के दायरे वाली मेट्रो से निकलकर पश्चिम रेलवे में बतौर महाप्रबंधक आने के लिए श्री वर्मा ने अपने इसी चीफ इनकम टैक्स कमिश्नर का दामन थांबा है। सूत्रों ने बताया की चीफ इनकम टैक्स कमिश्नर ने अपने बैचमेट श्री वर्मा का यह काम करवाने के लिए अपने जूनियर और पटना के इनकम टैक्स कमिश्नर श्री अजय सिंह को कहा। सूत्रों का कहना है की लालू की आय से अधिक संपत्ति की जांच के सारे मामले इन्ही अजय सिंह के हाथ में हैं। सूत्रों ने बताया की अपने 'बॉस' के आदेश का पालन करते हुए अजय सिंह इस काम के लिए कंपनी मामलों के मंत्री प्रेम चाँद गुप्ता को साथ लेकर सीधे लालू के पास रेल भवन पहुँच गए। जहाँ बताते हैं की कई मेम्बर्स के साथ लालू की मीटिंग चल रही थी, परन्तु जैसे ही श्री अजय सिंह श्री गुप्ता के साथ लालू के चेंबर में घुसे वैसे ही लगभग हडबडाते हुए उठकर लालू ने ''अरे आईये आईये अजय बाबू आईये आईये, आज यहाँ कहाँ घूम पड़े, सब खैरियत तो है न...........।'' उसी झोंक में लालू फ़िर श्री गुप्ता पर पिल पड़े और उन्हें लगभग गरियाते हुए कहा की ''भौजी को मिलने गए थे की नहीं, तुम से कितनी बार कहा है की भौजी को मिलने जाते रहा करो वो यहाँ दिल्ली में अकेली रहती हैं, अजय बाबु पटना में रहते हैं, महीने में एक बार आते जाते हैं, तो भौजी का ख्याल हम नहीं रखेंगे तो कौन रखेगा, ससुरा तुमसे कितनी बार कहा है की भौजी को मिठाई पहुँचा दो मगर........' जबकि अजय सिंह भी उनकी इस नौटंकी को बखूबी समझ रहे थे.इसी के साथ लालू ने सब अधिकारीयों को अपने चेंबर से बाहर जाने को कह दिया। इसके बाद अजय सिंह ने वहाँ अपने आने का असली मकसद बताया, लालू ने जोर चपरासी को आवाज लगाई, ''जाओ जल्दी से 'चोरमैन' ( चेयरमैन, रेलवे बोर्ड ) को बुला लाओ, CRB के आते ही लालू ने हुकुम दनदनाया की जाओ जल्दी से आर. एन. वर्मा को पश्चिम रेलवे में पोस्ट करने का प्रस्ताव बनाकर ले आओ।'' सूत्रों का कहना है की श्री वर्मा के फंडा में काफ़ी दम है और अब लालू K.C.JENA की ही तरह वर्मा की फाइल बगल में दबा कर PMO से करा लायेंगे। जबकि विवेक सहाय ने अपने अपंग बेटे को ही इस बार भी अपनी पसंद की पोस्टिंग का मोहरा बनाया है और उसका मेडिकल सर्टिफिकेट लगा दिया है। इस तरह लालू को अगर इनकम टैक्स डिपार्टमेन्ट से अपनी जान बचानी है तो आर. एन. वर्मा और विवेक सहाय को उनकी पसंद की पोस्टिंग देनी ही पड़ेगी। हालांकि सूत्रों का कहना है की अभी तक श्री वर्मा की फाइल DOPT में ही अटकी पड़ी है परन्तु उससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता, क्योंकि लालू उनकी फाइल ख़ुद लेकर जायेंगे और उस पर पीएम् से साईन कराकर लायेंगे।

मुसलमान भाइयों को विभिन्न मंत्रालयों की हिन्दी सलाहकार समितियों में सदस्य

गृह राज्य मंत्री श्री शकील अहमद ने सिद्ध् कर दिया है कि वे पहले मुसलमान है और उसके बाद कुछ और ।
श्री शकील अहमद ने भारत सरकार के गृह राज्य मंत्री के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण करने के बाद अपनी औकात दिखानी शुरू कर दी है , उनके पास राजभाषा विभाग भी दिया गया है और उन्होने सबसे पहले अपने मुसलमान भाइयों को विभिन्न मंत्रालयों की हिन्दी सलाहकार समितियों में सदस्य के रूप में नामित करना शुरू भी कर दिया है ।
सुना है कि कुछ मुसलमान तो ऐसे है जिन्हे हिनदी से कुछ भी लेना देना नहीं है, उन्हे केवल सरकारी खर्च पर एैश करने केलिए हिन्दी सलाहकार समितियों में सदस्य के रूप में नामित किया गया है । विशवस्तसूत्रों से पता चला है कि फोटा जर्नलिसट प्रकार के कुछ चमचों को भी रेल हिनदी सलाहकार समिति में ठूंस दिया गया है , एक मुसलमान तो नन्दूरबार जिले के है जिनहे हिनदी में दस्तखत भी नहीं करने आते । जबकि नियमानुसार यदि सदस्य बने , तो हिनदी की यह दुर्दशा न हो ।

आफिसर्स फेडरेशन में जीएम की अदला-बदली के खिलाफ प्रस्ताव पारित

नई दिल्ली : फेडरेशन ऑफ़ आफिसर्स एसोसिएशंस ( ऍफ़आरओऐ ) के प्रमुख पदाधिकारियों की आज दि। २७-१०-०८ को रेलवे बोर्ड में एक बैठक हुई जिसमें ओपन लाइन से ओपन लाइन में जीएम्स की अदला-बदली किए जाने के बोर्ड के प्रस्ताव का कड़ा विरोध जताया गया। हमारे सूत्रों का कहना है की इस ग़लत परम्परा का विरोध करते हुए अधिकारीयों ने कहा की इससे योग्य लोगों का हक मारा जा रहा है और एक ख़ास लाबी को फायदा पहुंचाने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। जबकि इसी लाबिंग की वजह से अन्य कैडरों को नुक्सान हो रहा है जो की कतई उचित नहीं है।सूत्रों का कहना है की बैठक में इस आशय का एक प्रस्ताव भी पारित कर दिया गया है और यह प्रस्ताव दीवाली के बाद पहले कार्य दिवस गुरुवार या शुक्रवार को सीआरबी और मंत्री की टेबल पर पहुँचा दिया जायेगा। सूत्रों ने बताया की बैठक में इंजीनियरिंग अधिकारीयों ने ख़ास तौर पर इस अदला-बदली का विरोध किया क्योंकि ट्रैफिक लाबी की मनमानी से सबसे ज्यादा नुक्सान उन्हीं का हो रहा है।पता चला है की सीआरबी ने अपने 'बिरादरी' भाइयों का फेवर करते हुए श्री आर. एन. वर्मा को मेट्रो से प. रे. और उनकी जगह सीओएम्/प. म. रे. श्री वि. एन. त्रिपाठी को तथा श्री विवेक सहाय को उ. म. रे. से उ. रे. में और उनकी जगह सीईई/प. रे. श्री ऐ. के. वोहरा को भेजे जाने का प्रस्ताव भेजा है। हालांकि हमारे सूत्रों का कहना है की श्री वर्मा की फाइल अभी तक डीओपीटी में ही अटकी पड़ी है।सूत्रों ने बताया की डीओपीटी ने श्री यु. सी. डी. श्रेणी के आरएससी में भेजे जाने के प्रस्ताव के करके बोर्ड के सांसत में डाल दिया है क्योंकि श्री श्रेणी के मेट्रो से ओपन लाइन पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे में भेजे जाने के समय बोर्ड ने डीओपीटी के यह बताया था की जिसे मेंबर बनाना होता है उसे ओपन लाइन में भेजा जाता है, डीओपीटी ने यही बोर्ड से पूछा है की अब ऐसा क्या हो गया है की श्री श्रेणी को ओपन लाइन से हटा कर साइड लाइन ( आरएससी ) में भेजा जा रहा है? बताया जाता है की अब श्री श्रेणी के साथ भी सीआरबी और मंत्री की 'सेटिंग' हो गई है इसलिए अब उन्हें एनईआर से नहीं हटाने का नया प्रस्ताव भेजा गया है।इसी तरह दूसरा प्रस्ताव यह था की श्री श्रेणी की जगह श्री दीपक कृष्ण को और श्री सहाय की जगह श्री वोहरा को था श्री वर्मा की जगह श्री त्रिपाठी को भेजा जाएगा। जबकि इसके पहले का प्रस्ताव यह था की श्री दीपक कृष्ण को पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे और श्री सुदेश कुमार को ( आरएससी ) में भेजा जाए। परन्तु यह प्रस्ताव धरा रह गया। बाद में श्री दीपक कृष्ण को पूर्व रेलवे का भी प्रस्ताव बना था।अपने ब्लॉग में 'रेलवे समाचार' ने 'बिरादरी' और 'लेनदेन' के इस खेल को दो दिन पहले ही एक्सपोज कर दिया था जिससे बोर्ड और पीएम्ओ तथा डीओपीटी में हड़कंप मच गया था और इसी के मद्देनजर ऍफ़आरओऐ की यह अर्जेंट मीटिंग बुलाई गई थी क्योंकि इस तमाम 'खेल' से रेलवे की छवि ख़राब हो रही है बल्कि अधिकारीयों के बीच वैमनस्यता भी बढ़ रही है जिससे उनके अन्दर एक-दूसरे के प्रति आक्रोश की भावना पैदा हो रही है जो की स्वस्थ प्रशासन के हित में नहीं है।सूतों का कहना था की बैठक के बाद अधिकारीयों ने आपस में यह उम्मीद अवश्य जाहिर की की उपरोक्त तमाम वस्तुस्थितियों को मद्देनजर रखते हुए पीएम्ओ इस 'लेनदेन के खेल' को सफल नहीं होने देगा। क्योंकि इससे न सिर्फ़ रेलवे की छवि ख़राब हो रही है बल्कि अधिकारीयों में भी आपस में वैमनस्यता बढ़ रही है। इसके अलावा जोनल रेल प्रशासन भी बुरी तरह प्रभावित हो रहा है।

नई दिल्ली : पता चला है की सीआरबी ने जीएम की पोस्टिंग का जो प्रस्ताव रेल मंत्री को भेजा है उसमें जीएम/मेट्रो रेलवे श्री आर एन वर्मा को पश्चिम रेलवे और जीएम/एनसीआर श्री विवेक सहाय को उत्तर रेलवे का जीएम बनाया जाना प्रस्तावित किया गया है। ज्ञातव्य है की श्री वर्मा और श्री सहाय दोनों ही वर्त्तमान में ओपन लाइन के जीएम हैं क्योंकि मेट्रो को भी ओपन लाइन माना गया है।उल्लेखनीय है की ओपन लाइन से ओपन लाइन में ट्रांसफर की कोई पॉलिसी नहीं है, ओपन लाइन से ओपन लाइन में अपवाद स्वरुप ही जीएम्स की अदला-बदली की जाती है, इसी के तहत शायद यू.सी.डी.श्रेणी को मेट्रो से पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे में भेजा गया था, जिन्हें पुनः वहाँ से हटाकर रेलवे स्टाफ कॉलेज ( आरएससी ) वडोदरा भेजे जाने के बोर्ड के प्रस्ताव को डीओपीटी ने करारे जवाब के साथ लौटा दिया है। ज्ञातव्य है की वर्त्तमान जीएम पैनल के पहले नंबर पर श्री सुदेश कुमार, आईआरएसईई, को आरएससी और दूसरे नंबर पर श्री दीपक कृष्ण, आईआरएसई, को पूर्व रेलवे का जीएम बनाने के प्रस्ताव को रेल मंत्री वापस लौटा चुके हैं।
अब जो श्री वर्मा और श्री सहाय को क्रमशः पश्चिम रेलवे एवं उत्तर रेलवे में भेजे जाने का प्रस्ताव सीआरबी ने किया है उसके पीछे 'बिरादरी' की भावना और करोड़ों रुपये के खेल की अहम् भूमिका बताई जा रही है। क्योंकि एक तो ओपन लाइन से ओपन लाइन में जीएम्स के ट्रांसफर की कोई पॉलिसी नहीं है, दूसरे जिस जीएम को आगे बोर्ड मेंबर बनाना होता है और वह यदि किसी प्रोडक्शन यूनिट, जैसे डीएलडबल्यू / सीएलडबल्यू / डीएम्डबल्यू / आईसीऍफ़ / आरडबल्यूऍफ़ / आरसीऍफ़, में बतौर जीएम पदस्थ होता है, तो उसे वहाँ से निकालकर ओपन लाइन का जीएम बनाया जाता है। यही अब तक की परम्परा रही है।
परन्तु अब 'बिरादरी' और पैसे के लिए इस परम्परा को भी टाक पर रखा जा रहा है। उल्लेखनीय है की श्री सहाय हमेशा अपने अपंग बेटे के नाम पर अपनी पसंद की पोस्टिंग में रहे हैं अब पुनः उसी के नाम पर दिल्ली में पोस्टिंग मांग रहे हैं जबकि अब तक वह पहले मध्य रेलवे एवं बाद में पश्चिम रेलवे की जुगाड़ में थे। अब चूंकि उनके अपंग बेटे का एडमीशन दिल्ली में अपंग कोटे में हो गया है इसलिए उन्हें अब उत्तर रेलवे, दिल्ली में पोस्टिंग चाहिए। अपने साढू भाई श्री वर्मा को वह अपनी जगह पश्चिम रेलवे में भिजवा रहे हैं...?
पता चला है की श्री आर एन वर्मा के पश्चिम रेलवे में आने का प्रस्ताव सुनकर पीपावाव रेलवे कारपोरेशन लिमिटेड और कच्छ रेलवे कारपोरेशन लिमिटेड के दोनों प्रबंध निदेशक परेशान हो गए हैं क्योंकि उन्हें लगता है की श्री वर्मा के पश्चिम रेलवे में आने से उनको अपना काम करना काफ़ी मुश्किल हो जाएगा। हमारे विश्वसनिय सूत्रों का कहना है की यह बात दोनों प्रबंध निदेशकों ने दिल्ली जाकर सीआरबी से भी कही है। सूत्रों का कहना है की सीआरबी ने उन्हें 'एज यूजुअल' एम्आर का नाम लेकर कहा की यह प्रस्ताव उनका नहीं एम्आर का है, इसमें वह कुछ नहीं कर सकते हैं।
यहाँ वही कहावत लागू हो रही है की 'कुछ करें देवी कुछ करें पंडा' , यानी एम्आर के नाम पर तो भारतीय रेल में किसी से भी कुछ भी करा या करवाया जा सकता है, वैसे भी एम्आर के मुंह से निकला हर शब्द नियम बन जाता है और अब तो रेल अधिकारीयों को भी इसकी आदत हो गई है और इसी के नाम पर ट्रान्सफर, पोस्टिंग, प्रमोशन आदि में 'बाढ़ ही खेत को खा रही है'। सूत्रों का कहना है की चूँकि सीआरबी को रिटायर होने से पहले अपना घाटा पूरा करना है, इसलिए जो ज्यादा 'बोली' लगा रहा है उसे ओपन लाइन में भेजने का प्रस्ताव बनाकर भेजा जा रहा है और इसके लिए एम्आर का नाम आगे किया जा रहा है जबकि सबको मालूम अहि की एम्आर को अपनी राजनीती चमकाने के आगे यह सब देखने की फुर्सत नहीं है।
इसके अलावा सूत्रों का यह भी कहना है की श्री वर्मा को प. रे. और श्री सहाय को उ. रे. में भेजे जाने के सीआरबी के प्रस्ताव से रेल राज्य मंत्री श्री नारण भाई राठवा भी नाराज हैं क्योंकि उन्हें भी पता है की श्री वर्मा के प रे में आने से उनके क्षेत्र के कई काम अटक जायेंगे। सूत्रों का कहना है की श्री राठवा प. म. रे. के वर्त्तमान सीओएम् श्री वी. एन. त्रिपाठी को प. रे. में लाना चाहते थे मगर सीआरबी ने उन्हें धोखे में रखकर प्रस्ताव बनाकर भेज दिया। सूत्रों का कहना है की श्री राठवा को इस बात की आशंका है की श्री वर्मा के प. रे. में आने से उनके कामों वे अड़ंगा लगायेंगे। क्योंकि उनकी यह आदत है।
सम्बंधित जांच एजेंसियों से यह उम्मीद की जाती है की वह रेलवे बोर्ड और सीआरबी की इस मनमानी को समय पर रोक पाने में कामयाब होंगी।

But since it had very little information, Bihar leaders hijacked the agenda to Mumbai, observed a Union Minster."The concern of teh Union Cabinet is that regional chauvinism is contained,' said Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy.The NCP did not seem at all comfortable with Lalu's provocative anti-Maharashtra utterances. "Attacks on migrants is unacceptable. But nobody should use provocative language." said NCP General Secretary D P Tripathy.The party also sees a nexus between rebel Congress leader Narayan Rane and Raj Thackeray. "Rane's men were found to be involved in the Kalyan violence," said an NCP Leader.

Railway officials reject charges of exam bias
Mumbai:- Senior railway officials said on Friday that the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams were centralised exams with equal oppurtunity for candidatesfrom all across India. They were rejecting charges made by MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who said the RRB exams were being manipulated to favour some candidates.Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) officials ridiculed Thackeray's charge that candidates from Bihar were liberately sent to appear for the exams conducted in Mumbai."There are 19 RRBs across India to cover the 16 zonal railways, workshops and factories, there is no reason why candidates should only prefer RRB, Mumbai. The salary scales and perks of the Indian Railways are the same for everywhere," said an official.Officials pointed out that Bihari, Jharkhnad and Uttar Pradesh have recruitment boards at Muzaffarpur, Patna, Ranchi, Allahabad and Gorakhpur. All these RRBs frequently advertise for vacancies in zones under their jurisdiction, said officials. More often than not, these RRBs do issue advertisements in newspapers published in other places, including Mumbai, added officials. There are RRBs in practically every important city, including Kolkata, Malda, Guwahati, Bhubhaneshwar, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Secundrabad, Thiruvananthapuram and even Srinagar.Another official, himself from Maharashtra, said candidates from the state can easily get forms for the RRB exams in front of any big terminus, like CST or Churchgate in Mumbai. All these ads are routinely printed in the Employment Exchange magazine."They can also go to RRB exams held in other states, just like the north Indians come here for RRB exams. It's similar to an MBA aspirant from the South going for an entrance held at a Delhi or Gurgaon business school," an official reasoned.Asked if RRB, Mumbai, offered more vacancies than other RRBs in the country, senior officials said no. "Northern Railway has many more express and mail train vacancies. Zones covering Bihar, Jharkhand and Chattisgarh have huge freight operaions due to coal reserves. And the Eastern and Southern Railways have subarban as well as outstation operations like CR and WR," an official explained.

I have never opposed Chhat Puja, says Raj
"MNS chief attempts to clear the air before the north Indian festival on Tuesday, says he is only opposed to its politicisation"Worried about every stray incident of violence being attributed to his party, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray went on the backfoot on Friday as he declared that he had absolutely no opposition to Chhat Puja if it was not politicised.Thackeray has sought special permission from the police to clear the air ahead of the festival to be celebrated by Biharis on a large scale on Tuesday. There were apprehensions in city that MNS activists would go on a rampage again when north Indians assembled at Juhu Beach on Tuesday. Raj's clarification will allow the festival to continue smoothly as he asked his followers to maintain calm.Raj's arrest last week had sparked violent incidents in the city that included the death of a migrant on a Mumbai train and a shooting of a Patna youth on the BEST bus in Kurla. Rahul Raj, a Bihari youth, had allegedly come to Mumbai to kill Raj Thackeray. Raj activists also smashed several ST buses, BEST buses, taxis and auto rickshaws in protest over their leader's arrestAt the press conference on Friday, however, Raj preached peace. "I have never opposed the Chhat Puja. I have only spoken against the political 'tamasha' (stunts) associated with it. People from Bihar who live here can perform religious rituals according to their customs. My party has never opposed it," he said.This was his first press conference where he did not spit venom against north Indian leaders, nor id he make any provocative statements. However, he did reiterate that his battle for the Marathi manoos would continue.Raj backed the Mumbai police over the killing of Rahul Raj who had allegedly come to Mumbai to kill him."You would have to flayed the police had he shot some commuters. Who knew where this youth had came from?" he asked.Raising questions about downgrading his personal security , he said, "How did they reduced the security so suddenly? The police security review committee decides what security cover to give to people on grounds of threat perception and his importance in public life. Don't forget, people in power change often. What will they do when I come to power?", he asked.

CR okays linking of two FOBs in Thane Thane:- The Central Railway (CR) decision to connect the two foot-over bridges(FOBs) at the Kalyan end of the Thane station has brought good cheer to scores of commuters who have to squeeze their way to the crowded platforms.The CR has also okayed a track revamp plan that will facilitate a halt-free entry of the stations into Thane station. The CR Officials alongwith Shiv Sena MP from Thane Anand Paranjpe and Sena MLA Eknath Shinde inspected the station area to address long-pending issues.Paranjpe has been making the rounds of the railway ministry in Delhi seeking the railway board's intervention for the revamp of Thane station, which is the first station to be built in the country during British rule.The rail authorities have failed to keep pace with the population expansion in and around Thane. With a commuter traffic of more than 5 lakhs per day, Thane is one of the most revenue-generating stations. "Ideally, the station ought to be given a heritage status. However, it has been turned into a disgrace because of negligence by CR officials. Most of the ticket counters do not work. This inconveniences the commuters who have to wait in serpentine queues to buy a ticket, "said S Nandgopal, a regular commuter.He said there are only two FOBs and this makes it difficult to enter or exit the platforms. "Both the FOBs are narrow and it takes nearly 15 minutes to climb up or down the platform during rush hours, "he added.Shinde said, "Most of the commuters avoid the crowded FOB. They risk their lives by crossing the tracks even during peak hours. "He said the railways should also construct a new bridge taking into consideration the growing commuter traffic.
